Rob Reiner tweeted against President Donald Trump on Thursday in a series of heated messages about the Republican leader’s recent decisions and rumored personal life. The actor, best known for his role in All In The Family, began with a tweet alleging Trump is committing Treason by “aiding the enemy” in the fight against ISIS.
“Donald Trump is committing Treason against The United States of America. He is aiding and abetting the enemy in The War against Isis and The Cyberwar against Russia,” he said. “He has turned the world’s oldest Democracy into a wholly owned subsidiary of Vladimir Putin. GOP, WAKE UP!”
Trump announced Wednesday he’s pulling U.S. troops from Syria in a video posted on his Twitter account. Russian President Vladimir Putin applauded the decision.
“If the USA made that decision then it’s the right one,” said Putin in a press conference Thursday, as reported by The Guardian. “Donald is right, I agree with him.”
U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces slammed Trump's move, saying ISIS will be revitalized in the absence of America, causing “dangerous implications for international stability.”
Reiner also attacked rumors about Trump’s infidelity, as well as his former institution, Trump University.
“A man cheats on his wife just after his wife gives birth. He robs people of their life savings through his fake university," Reiner tweeted. “He uses his phony foundation to give money to politicians and pay his legal fees. That man is the President of the United States. This will not stand.”
Reiner made headlines earlier this week when he addressed the passing of Penny Marshall, his ex-wife. He spoke kindly of the actor on his Twitter account. “I loved Penny. I grew up with her,” he said. “She was born with a great gift. She was born with a funnybone and the instinct of how to use it. I was very lucky to have lived with her and her funnybone. I will miss her.”
Marshall died of complications from diabetes. She was 75 at the time of her death.
Before Marshall’s death, Reiner made a prediction about the Trump administration. “Facing criminal charges, Trump shuts down his fraudulent charity,” he said. “Facing overwhelming criminal charges, Trump will be forced to shut down the most corrupt administration in American history.”
