Here's how green is India?

Conserving and expanding India’s urban green cover is one of the objectives of the draft National Forest Policy released earlier this year. The National Green Tribunal recently stayed the felling of reportedly 16,000 trees in South Delhi for a Central government housing redevelopment project. The issue has pitted activists and residents against the government in a metropolis that often tops the list of the world’s most polluted cities.
