Cybersecurity Researchers Discovered a New Malware on the Dark Web
A new malicious software, known
as Nuke, was discovered around
mid-December by researchers
working for cybersecurity firm Sixgill.
The malicious software has a
feature known as “bot killer,”
which removes all other malicious
software on your machine to
remain as the only one.
It can also bypass Windows
Firewall executions and User
Account Control, as well as inject
code through the Firefox or
Chrome browsers.
It was discovered on a popular
Russian/English message board.
Gosya, an alleged cyber-criminal,
is selling this malware on the
dark web at a low price of $4,000.
Although researchers noted there
were members of the
Russian/English message board
whose interest was aroused by
the malware, it is not clear if there
are interested buyers or if it has
already been bought.
Researchers at Sixgill are still
trying to get more information and
they relate this to their customers
and also law enforcement.
