ASPI has worked closely with the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) to advance discussion on cyber policy, and several viable policy initiatives are proposed in this report.
Cybersecurity is a first-order national security issue, and ICT networks are critical for Australia’s digital future and economic prosperity. Common ground between Australia and China on cyber policy is thin, and there’s disagreement on many issues. But closer dialogue is needed to find opportunities to cooperate on shared threats and to limit the likelihood for misadventure. This special report is a building block for that discussion.
