When our COAS becomes bold to walk next to Raksha Mantri and not behind him like a puppy, then and then only any idiot in Min of Def will listen to Army. You see the present COAS appears to be shit scared to even to face Raksha Mantri. The Jorhat dacoity case is being fully exploited by babus and this COAS also thinks one day Gen VK Singh (Rtd) will get after him. So lie low, complete your term and then vamoose with OROP and leave others to their fate. Let them go to courts of law if they find their grievance is not resolved. When you have such a weak COAS you will have this fate.
Even when CAPFs went to hon'ble Delhi High Court and got NFFU. Service Chiefs could not go to hon'ble PM to plead case of Defence Service Officers. You mean to say Service Chiefs are so low in order of warrant of precedence that they cannot get an appointment with hon’ble PM.
Why should they? Because they enjoy OROP. One more reason is they think, we slogged so much to become Service Chiefs and why should every Officer get pay and pension of Addl Secy if he puts in 30 or 32 years service? How can Gadha and Ghoda be treated alike. This is the mind set most of our senior officers suffer from.
Lt Gens got their pension hiked from Rs 26,150 to Rs 36,500 whopping 30% increase from Jan 2006. But our Service Chiefs could not go to Raksha Mantri and get a similar hike in pensions from other ranks from Jan 2006 and it took but only from 24 Sep 2012. I am not against Lt Gens getting some hike. Good for them but does the Army Forces only have Lt Gens/V Adms / Air Mshls only or other ranks.
Are we CHILDEREN OF LESSER GODS? Now there are many old veterans who will give us long sermons how we must not say a word about these gutless service chiefs who can not protect interest of those who are under them. In which country NFFU is given to their employees?
Is it not the moral responsibility of these service chiefs to get NFFU not only for Officers but for JCOs and Widows. Why can not a Sepoy get pay and pension of Nb Sub and Nk get pension of Sub Maj? If the organisation can not give promotion due to steep stagnation, it should give NFFU to Sepoys.
Does every Sepoy get promotion? Is ACP scheme good enough with 8, 16, 24 years’ service when these great leaders know no sepoy serves for 24 years. Then what is the use of having one more promotion in 24 years when it cannot be achieved? Why our service chiefs accept any benefit given to civilians when our terms & conditions are entirely different? Why could they not tell Govt of India that ACP should be modified for Armed Forces to be at 6, 12, 17 years? Can not Sepoy get pension of Nb Sub if every IAS officer draws pay and pension of Addl Secy?
Pl ponder over these vital issues. When Officers clamour for NFFUs, it is but natural for JCOs and OR “Hamara Kya Hoga. Kya welfare sirf Afsrar sahiban ke liye seemat hai. Ham ne Kya Guna kiya?”
Let us all be sympathetic to JCOs and OR who need our sympathy, support and backing.
