Construction activity is progressing in the southwest corner of Pakistan’s Khushab nuclear site, south of reactors 2, 3, and 4. The new building at the site appears externally complete and very similar to a building northeast of reactor 3. Noteworthy are also two new clearings that could be for new buildings. One area seems to have been cleared in preparation for the installation of new foundations. The other area already shows new foundations.
However, it is still too early to make a final judgment on the nature of the construction. Signatures visible through recent commercial satellite imagery do not permit a definitive assessment of the site’s purpose. ISIS will continue to monitor this construction.
