The Diplomat, a leading publication on the Asia-Pacific, seeks a regular, paid writer to cover Southeast Asia/ASEAN affairs for its ASEAN Beat section.
The writer will be responsible for writing two short articles a week for The Diplomat, around 500-800 words in length, on developments in individual Southeast Asian countries as well as the region as a whole, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Candidates who are based in the region are strongly preferred.
Desired qualities:
Previous experience either writing for online or print publications on Southeast Asia and/or Asian affairs or covering the region
Extensive, demonstrable knowledge of Southeast Asia
A strong command of the English language (Southeast Asian languages a plus).
